The organizers of World Bear Weekend are grateful for your support of our annual charity event over the last 6 years. As mentioned in our on-stage presentation during our 2024 event, despite our financial challenges, we are determined to bring back the event in 2025 – BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Losses Over the Past 6 Years
| Year | Location | Loss | Reason |
| 2018 | Lexington | $25K | Attrition |
| 2021 | Memphis | $22K | COVID Cancellations |
| 2022 | Orlando | $20K | Logistical Expenses |
| Total Losses | $67K |
In 2018, our first year, we did not have enough attendees to meet our contractual obligations with the host hotel, resulting in a $25,000 loss (hotel attrition). In 2021, just 5 days before our event, COVID cases in Memphis skyrocketed, causing 250 room nights and over 100 event passes to be canceled. Despite the hotel’s promise to help with the expenses, we are now being sued for the $22,000 owed for room attrition. In 2022, we faced unexpected on-site expenses for extra electrical, wifi, and sound needs totaling approximately $20,000.
Looking Ahead
The event producers have absorbed over $60K of debt to keep this event going for the past 6 years. We need your help to make our 7th annual event a reality. We are asking for donations/sponsorships to help keep our non-profit event alive. To make a donation, scan the QR code or follow the link below:

It’s difficult (and very out-of-character) for either of the producers to ask for assistance – especially financial help. Our mission has always been focused on raising money for local and global charities. With your help, we hope we can continue our journey into 2025, and beyond. Thanks in advance from both of us! We are hopeful to see you again in the Fall of 2025.
